So you've just kicked off a capital campaign, and that thermometer is looking pretty empty! If you receive a big cash or check gift, of course you'll want it to display online.
Entering the gift into the Donor Management campaign won't fill your thermometer, since information only flows one way (from the Fundraising Pages => Donor Management). But lucky for you, there's a workaround - adding an offline donation!
Remember - if you don't need the gift to appear online in the fundraising thermometer, you can simply add it to Donor Management.
First, click Offline Donations.
Then click Add a New Donation.
Then you'll enter your donor/donation information.
First, enter your donor name. If the donor has already given online, their name will auto-populate in this field.
If the donor hasn't given online before, you'll need to create a donor profile by clicking the blue hyperlink (circled below). If you don't have the email address of the donor, select the "donor has no email" check box. Make sure to fill out all of the required fields before clicking the save button.
IMPORTANT: To make the donation appear on the page, make sure you enter the Campaign Name in the Project field.
Now just fill in the appropriate donation information, and don't forget to click Save. Your donation should appear in Donor Management with your next sync, and your thermometer should look healthier already!
